Keith Mason, Regional Director

Keith Mason is an Elliott County school board member

Please share why you decided to run for your local school board.
I wanted to be a part of the board to be able to help the children and staff of our schools. A good education is the success to our children's future.

What is your favorite thing about serving on your local board?
Being able to listen and help my community with our schools. The teachers, the leaders for our students deserve to be supported in every way possible. The students deserve the best education possible. By being on the board, I get to support both.

What activities do you enjoy doing outside your board work?
I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my two grandsons. I belong to the Operating Engineers Local 181, Masonic Fraternity, Shriners and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Name someone in your life you admire, or who inspired or helped you along the way.
My dad inspired me by teaching me good work ethics. He taught me that without trying something you never knew what you could or couldn't do. He always encouraged me to do my best.

Please share something about yourself that most people may not know.
I've worked since age 20. I belonged to three different union organizations: Pipefitters, Steelworkers and Operating Engineers. I'm a clown with the Shriners.
