Kentucky School Advocate
September 2024
The 2024 Regional Meetings are in full swing, with five of the 12 meetings in the books. Regional meetings are a KSBA tradition that began in 1936 to provide an opportunity for board teams to network with colleagues, KSBA staff and other education leaders close to home. The meetings often include student performances and displays of students’ artwork.
This year’s program is headlined by conversation about Amendment 2. In November, Kentucky voters will decide whether legislators should have new authority to direct public tax dollars to private education providers. Board teams will learn how to address the proposed constitutional amendment with their communities and gain a better understanding of the impacts on local public schools and the students they serve.
