Time to be heard in Frankfort: Advance registration helpful in planning for KSBA legislative advocacy day, Jan. 20-21

The 2016 Kentucky General Assembly is well into week two, and KSBA governmental relations team members can be seen all over the Capitol and the Capitol Annex. But the best possible impact will come Jan. 20-21 when school board members and superintendents descend on Frankfort for KSBA’s LEAD (Legislative Education Advocacy Day) event.

Advance registration assists the team in the planning, from seating to materials to meals and overnight lodging. Click here to register.

A reception for attendees and lawmakers will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 20 at the Capital Plaza Hotel. The following morning, Education Commissioner Stephen Pruitt and leaders of the legislature will be speaking to participants at the hotel. The session also will include a briefing on the latest K-12 issues plus tips from professionals on effective lobbying of legislators. Participants then will head across town for person-to-person meetings with their state senators and state representatives.

If you have any questions in advance of the event, please contact Hope McLaughlin [email protected] or call 800-372-2962.

Come and make your voice heard in Frankfort.
