KSBA begins offering regional trainings on finance, ethics and superintendent evaluations

In an effort to help school board members meet state requirements for mandatory leadership training, KSBA has begun providing single-session workshops covering the three topical areas of board member ethics, school finance and superintendent evaluations.

The attached pdf flyer includes the complete schedule for the spring training dates. Training will continue throughout the summer and fall, with that schedule to be announced in the future.

Some sessions are three hours long, while others will be back-to-back three-hour blocks to better accommodate board members’ availabilities. Each session will cover all three mandatory training areas.

Upcoming events are:

· March 21, Shelbyville, OVEC

· March 28, Lexington, KEDC

· April 7, Hazard, KVEC

· April 18, Lexington, CKEC

· April 18, Ashland, KEDC

· April 23, Eddyville, WKEC

· May 9, Erlanger, NKCES

The cost is $40 per course with the exception of superintendent evaluation training – that cost is being underwritten by a Gates Foundation grant through the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence. Online registration for each workshop is available on the KSBA website under the Events section of the home page.
