Do you know how your schools must address disability-related personnel issues and public-access issues such as use of service animals? Is your staff adequately trained in compliance with federal laws relating to individuals with disabilities?
To ensure your answers to both questions are “Yes,” KSBA is providing a unique, three-day event with detailed instruction about Section 504 and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.
The training will be Sept. 23-25 at the Embassy Suites on Newtown Pike in Lexington.
In addition to Section 504 and ADA issues, sessions will cover current court cases and hot-topic issues being pursued in court by the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Office of Civil Rights and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Other topics include school district responsibilities for accommodating students, staff, and the public under Section 504 and the ADA; and updated Section 504 model procedures and forms for student services.
