KSBA’s board of directors held its summer work session and regular meeting on June 16 and 17 at the association’s headquarters in Frankfort. The agenda included the approval of the new fiscal year budget, discussion of the 2023-24 strategic plan and committee reports. The June meeting also serves as the annual evaluation of the executive director, during which Kerri Schelling received high marks.

During the board’s work session, Schelling facilitated follow-up discussion to the board’s self-evaluation. The initial self-evaluation was conducted in December and the initial discussion of the data occurred in March. Board members used Mentimeter to collect responses in real time and take a deeper dive into the self evaluation data. The board also devoted time to exploring ways KSBA can engage at the national level as a founding member of the Consortium of State School Boards Associations (COSSBA).
