Legal Training

Legal Training

KSBA offers board members training on new laws and regulations affecting education in Kentucky. KSBA's Legal Training Services aims:
  • To assist members in meeting annual training requirements and
  • To provide members with information and tools to be efficient, effective and compliant with state and federal law.
Trainings are offered at KSBA conferences and, upon request, can be conducted in person or through an interactive distance learning setting. Trainings will always be provided by an attorney with a strong background in education law and a complete understanding of how Kentucky's educational system is structured and how public schools operate.

KSBA’s knowledgeable staff will share information on district policy and procedure updates and summarize the 2018 Regular Session of the Kentucky General Assembly. In addition, KSBA staff attorneys will offer insights on:
  • Statutes
  • Regulations
  • Case Law
  • Opinions of the Kentucky Attorney General
This conference is open to school board members, school administrators and board attorneys. Board Member Credit has been approved and attendees can earn up to eight hours of Level IV and Level V credit in the Academy of Studies. EILA and CLE hours are pending.
