KSBA greatly appreciates the Beshear administration’s continued support for public education, echoed fervently in this evening’s address. We can think of no more important role of our state government than ensuring an effective, equitable and adequately funded system of common schools for all students – a system promised to us in our constitution. That promise requires a team effort among state officials, the legislature, school boards, district administrations, educators, families and communities at-large. We value this administration’s teamwork – past, present and future – as we strive together to provide world–class educational opportunities for our children.

Our members, Kentucky’s locally elected school board members, believe in policies crafted at the state level that serve to strengthen decisions at the local level.
